CUSTOM COMPETITION BENCHREST
Vintage outboard engine restoration, of course, has nothing to do with rifle rests, but I find it very interesting and have recently decided to go into it on a very limited trial basis. It takes alot of time and research to get an old engine back up to "showroom" condition. Having a machine shop at my disposal makes things a little easier. Finding some parts is just impossible, so I have to make them. The engine pictured here is my own. It is a 1955 Johnson 5.5 HP Seahorse. Runs GREAT!
I am not currently taking orders on motors as I am too busy with rests, but hope to get back to it soon!
Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can dig up old owners manuals and advertising copy. Really adds something to the restoration! Now if I can talk my wife into letting me move it up into the living room for display...
Here are a few pictures of a petal car I recently restored for my grand daughter. Nothing to do with outboards, just wanted to brag!
